great little tuner

This tuner works great on its own and is fairly precise just with the internal microphone but when coupled with the korg clip on microphone is spot on and made tuning my guitar a lot less time consuming at the beginning of practice than it used to take by ear. Great little tuner for the price.
Excellent!

This tuner is superb, and extremely cheap to boot. The response time is excellent! I'm able to run through a scale at a moderate pace on my saxophone and it will register every note. With some lower quality tuners, you have to hold a note a few seconds before you get any response. Not with the Korg CA-40.
Great Tuner

I don't use the other features, but as a tuner, this product is spot on. Filters out noise well when using the mic. Only two things to gripe with - 1. The leg that you can use to prop this up isn't very usable. and 2. It's not great for gig use as the screen isn't that readable.
As a home tuner or for a brightly-lit gig - excellent!
Very Useful

This Korg CA-40 Tuner is a very good tuner for just about everyone who needs one. It is perfect for students, professionals, and band directors. For students this is a very good product because it not only teaches tells them when they are in or out of tune, it can sound out a note that they can match to get their instrument in tune. This is very important because it trains the student's ears. I highly recommend this product.
Good tuner

Good tuner.
It plays tune A.
Also, when you play another note, it will find it and show if it is too high or low.
One thing that I am not satisfied with is, it will only play the tune A.
Works great for my tenor sax

This tuner is great and easy to use. It is by far the best I have seen. The only bad thing is the shape of the back...if you are tuning someone else, it is hard to hold, and is a bit slippery. Other than that, it's the best.
It works!!!

It works!!! Now my guitar is well tune... It can even tell you what basic chords you're strumming. I was even able to tune my guitar with my wife talking to me very close. I highly recommend..
A great value

Reviewer: JeOber,
I have used for many years a Seiko quartz tuner with a mechanical needle movement. The performance of this tuner was excellent but I wanted an automatic tuner to speed up tuning and intonation checks, as well as something more compact for travel.
While it is hard to beat a mechanical needle's movement, I am impressed with the overall performance of this tuner. One quickly acclimates to the very slight delay in tuning response. I was apprehensive about the tuner's sensitivity with the LCD simulated needle display but the tuner certainly detects and displays tune within one hertz as checked between tuners. I also managed to check a guitar's tuning in the dark using only the red-green-red LEDs. I keep the tuner plugged in-line with the electric guitar's input to my amplifier so it's always available for tune check by just turning it on.
The tilt stand is a nice feature. The only thing I might desire is a black color case and perhaps an LCD backlight provision.
At $17 this is a great value.
Strat Tuner

Been using a Korg CA-30 for quite a while to tune my Jose Ramirez R1 Spanish Classic and my three Fender Stratocasters.Bought the Korg CA-40 exclusively for the Strats and I can tune them to perfection.Simple to use, gives the correct reading right on the tune and it is easy to store away in the guitar case.I am an amateur player and with the Korg CA-40 I don't need help in tuning the Stratocasters (and the Ramirez R1). Highly recommend for begginers and professional. The price is just right!!!
