| I bought this guitar for my daughter. For fifty bucks this is as good as any beginner guitars priced at 100.00. If your daughter does'nt mind the Hanna Montana and wants a decent electric guitar to learn to play then this it. This was shipped quickly and packaged well for the awkward shape of a guitar. |
Works-she loves it

| My daughter wanted a guitar for Christmas, and my husband wanted this one because she loves Hannah Montana. I was kinda doubtful, but despite managing to break a string Christmas Day, it has held up to over a month of daily playing, so definantly worth it:) |
Granddaughter loves this guitar!

| I bought this for my 7 year old granddaughter and she absolutely loves it. I wished I had bought a guitar strap to go with it. It is a very good quality guitar for the price. She hides it from her dad! :). Of course, she also loves the fact that it is a " Hannah Montana " guitar. Very happy with purchase. |
Nice guitar for beginners

| This is a great guitar for those young girls wanting to learn how to play...I guess young boys might like it too, if that's their thing. |

A lot of parents who wish to buy their daughter an electric guitar already know what an electric guitar IS.
These "well informed" parents usually like to get some rather precise information about the instruments that they would wish to to buy for themselves, and surely also for their children.
Unfortunately, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that could give any further information about this product than the official "Washburn Hannah Montana Guitar" website ( [...] ), and there is ABSOLUTELY NO INFORMATION on this website ... ( how stupid indeed !!! ).
I'm not really sure about the scale length, but it seems to be 24 inches on the D string. Am I right or wrong ???
The body should be made using "selected hardwood" ... which wood : oak, beech, ash, maple, cherry, holly, boxwood, holm oak, teak, mahogany, ebony, lauan, balsa ??? ( go check hardwood on wikipedia !!! ).
There is also hardwood plywood !!!
NO INFORMATION ! SORRY ! NOT FOR ME ! NOT FOR MY DAUGHTER ! |

| I am a music teacher an have a 7 year old that is Crazy about Hannah Montana so I got her the acoustic version with some work with is no problem for me, change strings, recondition the fretboard and bridge add a guitar strap pin and good to go, holds tune well, but this Electric version is a real Dud!!!!, the problem with this is the body is too heavy for any child and the bridge assembly is a joke, do not waste your hard earned money on this electric guitar. instead if you wanna get an guitar for a beginner stick with the acoustic version of this type, but knowing alot about music I must say that Hannah Montana is a Great performer extremely talented. Go Hannah!!!! |

I've been playing well built electric guitars for the last 15 years. When my 8 year old daughter was interested in picking up electric guitar I wanted to get her something that had some quality but at the same time wasn't expensive enough for me to kick myself if she quickly lost interest.
This guitar is built solid and has a surprisingly good tone. The neck is solid, the body has a good weight and the pickups aren't half bad. I'm going to list the only problems I had with the guitar but, regardless of those issues, for the price and overall quality I seriously recommend this guitar to any young aspiring guitarist.
The downsides: It came shipped fairly out of whack in respect to intonation and fret buzz (which isn't uncommon with any guitar being handled by a shipping company). The pick-up selector switch's plastic knob didn't want to stay on.
The upside: It's fully adjustable so the intonation and fret buzz can be fixed rather quickly. It even comes with the proper alum wrenches for the truss rod and bridge. It's fairly simple but if you're wary of adjusting these items you'll want to add in the cost of set up at your local guitar store or person. Regarding the pick-up selector switch knob, with a quick drop of glue that was also repaired painlessly. |
Best value for the price

Purchased for $55 including shipping from Sam Ash, an Amazon retailer. I ordered the item on a Saturday morning; the item arrived well packaged the following Wednesday. I bought the guitar for my seven 1/2 year old daughter. It is her first electric guitar.
The guitar was in A- condition when I took it out of the box. Everything was intact and seeming well assembled - however, there is a visible flaw on the neck at the joint on the underside of the fretboard - nothing that will affect playability. Also, the neck itself is unfinished - I knew this before I ordered it - but there was a slight rough patch that could have been sanded better. Two minutes with a piece of 100-grit sandpaper and the problem was solved.
The guitar has a nice tone for what it is. It reminded me somewhat of the tone you might get out of a knock-off Telecaster.
About the only con I can think of is that the guitar is a little on the heavy side - it's difficult for a little girl to handle. The guitar would probably be better served if they could have pared the overall weight down a little. But for what it is, this is probably the best overall value for the money.
I would definitely recommend this product for any little girl starting out for their first guitar - and I give the retailer two-thumbs up for sure. |
